8 New Electric Cars Set to Launch Soon in India – Maruti to Tata Motors

 

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, in India by March 2025. Built on the Heartect-e platform, the e Vitara will feature a 49 kWh or 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. The vehicle will be produced at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, with approximately 50% of the production earmarked for export markets. The e Vitara is expected to be priced competitively to cater to the mass market.

2. Kia EV9

Kia’s flagship electric SUV, the EV9, was launched in India in October 2024. Available in a single GT Line variant, the EV9 boasts a long-range all-wheel-drive powertrain. With a 77.4 kWh battery, it offers an estimated range of over 400 km per charge. Priced at approximately ₹1.3 crore, the EV9 positions itself as a premium offering in the electric SUV segment.

3. Kia Syros

The Kia Syros, a subcompact electric crossover, was unveiled in December 2024. Positioned between the Sonet and Seltos, the Syros is built on the Hyundai-Kia K1 platform. It will be available in multiple trims, including manual and automatic transmissions. The Syros is expected to be priced between ₹9 lakh and ₹17.8 lakh, making it an attractive option for urban commuters.

4. Hyundai Ioniq 5

Hyundai is set to introduce the Ioniq 5 in India in 2025. This electric crossover features a 77.4 kWh battery and offers a range of up to 480 km. With its futuristic design and advanced features, the Ioniq 5 aims to compete in the premium EV segment. Production will commence at Hyundai’s plant in Maharashtra, marking a significant step towards local EV manufacturing.

5. Tata Curvv EV

Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Curvv EV, a coupe-styled electric SUV, in 2025. The Curvv EV will be built on Tata’s new Gen2 platform and is expected to offer a range of over 400 km. With its bold design and advanced technology, the Curvv EV is anticipated to be a strong contender in the mid-size electric SUV market.

6. BYD Seal

Chinese automaker BYD is preparing to launch the Seal, an electric sedan, in India in 2025. The Seal is expected to offer a range of over 700 km, thanks to its advanced battery technology. With its spacious interior and premium features, the Seal aims to cater to the growing demand for long-range electric sedans in India.

6. MG Cyberster

MG Motor is set to introduce the Cyberster, an all-electric roadster, in India in 2025. The Cyberster features a sleek design and is expected to offer a range of over 500 km. With its performance-oriented features and futuristic design, the Cyberster aims to capture the attention of enthusiasts seeking a unique electric vehicle experience.
