According to sources, high-profile pageant entrepreneur Nikhil Anand of Glamanand Entertainment and the National Director of Miss Universe India 2025-2026 is reportedly facing a severe financial crisis. Nikhil has defaulted on post-dated cheques amounting to Rs 70 lakh issued to Jaipur-based Commercial Textiles, a private company that is now preparing to take legal action (filing a case in a competent court) after repeated reminders and what they describe as unfulfilled assurances.
Sources further indicate that Commercial Textiles may also file an FIR with Jaipur Police, alleging cheating and willful non-repayment. This development has reportedly raised serious concerns within the Indian pageant circuit as well as at the Miss Universe headquarters in the USA, particularly regarding Anand’s ability to manage the administrative and financial responsibilities of Miss Universe India 2025 and 2026 in the coming months. According to sources if Nikhil fails to carry out the pageant itinerary for holding auditions etc. across India as per schedule of Miss Universe Indi 2025- 2026 then the CEO of Miss Universe, Mario Adolfo Búcaro Flores will seriously think to cancel Nikhil Anand’s contract of 2025- 2026. If the situation progresses in this direction, industry insiders believe that Times of India MD Vineet Jain could potentially reclaim the Miss Universe India franchise from Nikhil Anand, signalling a major shift in the pageant landscape.
At present, Nikhil Anand is in Bangkok, Thailand, attending the Miss Universe 2025 finale which is scheduled to be held on 21st November 2025 where Miss Universe , India Manika Vishwakarma is representing the country. However, the controversy has, according to observers, significantly dented the credibility of the young pageant owner Nikhil Anand.
